I took my first blast across the lake and noticed my oil light is on. Checked the oil after it warmed up and it is close to the full level. I'm guessing something is wrong with the dip stick itself. Anyone have a similar problem? It sounded normal but I parked it just in case.

2 things to check....is the sending unit properly clicked into the receptacle on the dipstick? Some people mistake the low gas light for the oil light.

Check the wiring going into the plug..

I dont like how the wiring bends over when hood is down.. I had a similar problem with the temp sensor on my viper.. Wires broke off after a while!

The dipstick has a diode in it and it went bad. Bought a new one and light went off. $30.00.

PS: My Hauck new lightweight more HP exhaust will go on this weekend. I'll post results.

You mean that's all I had to do to sttop that light from coming on? Damn, changing the pistons and rods was alot of work and money. :drink:

I had the same problem on my 03 Mtn. I took it to the dealer worried that I was going to wreck the motor and they checked it out. It ended up being something to do with dipstick. I don't know what exactly went wrong, but they put in a new one, changed the oil and sent me on my way.
