Oil Tank Leaking AGAIN!!

This is my second oil tank.. its cracking and leaking again..

Is there anyone making an aftermarket one that is stronger?

maybe mpi would sell you one?? i have heard of this happening but we have had 6 4-strokes since 03 and i have never had any issues, where are they cracking?

Near the bottom bolt on the front side..

It starts with a small leak

once I get my tig welder I'm going to be making one from alloy. Will let know know how it goes.

There must be some logical reason why this is happening.... I havent heard of this happening elsewhere either....

There were a few people last year that had the same problem

Its because there are only 3 mounting points to hold that tank and the tank holds 2-3 qts of oil, thats alot of weight on it..

i would still check with mpi, their tank is alot thicker and it can be polished to a shine!

rubber mount, the only answer. I eventually rubber mounted everything including headlight and taillight on my stroked ironhead sporster. never had a problem again

I have a new one for sell in the box from yamaha yet. Sorry just had to put that in i've had three new ones on my 06 rtx.
