I wanna know what kind of longevity people are getting out of their machines. I only have 3100 miles on mine and plan to keep it for atleast a couple more years. Id like to get 10,000 on it before getting a new one. I ride 4stroke yamaha sleds too and have seen guys with 27,000 miles on their sleds with no problems other than usual maintanance.

Left stock and ridden with care, they'll last a long time. It depends on how you ride. If you keep the maintenance up on the machine, it'll run and look like new for years. Some of the Grizzly's seem to burn oil from almost new. My 660 and 700 don't, but some here say theirs do. If you switch on your brain before the turbo, it shouldn't shorten the life too much. Yamaha builds a good product, I've always had good luck with them, trikes, street bikes, sleds, and now quads, all of them great running low maintenance machines.

My 06 has about 5700 miles on it now and it still burns oil. About a cup every 50 miles.

My local dealer had a 660 in the shop with over 10k miles. it was a farmers rig. That same farmer had over 3k on his 700.

well it is kind of hard to tell with the old bikes as they only had trip odo. my uncle is still using his 1992 big bear. he is retired now so the milage is more but he used to burn a tank of gas every weekend during hunting/trapping season not counting fishing trips and other excursions. bike is still running great and he is putting even more km on it. i know the one week i was out with him i put almost 200km on my bike in the one weekend. you can do the math from there as hunting/trapping season is from mid october untill freezeup in late november/mid december.

I have around 45,000 miles on my 88 moto 4 yfm200dxw. This summer is the first rebuild. everything is warn to the limit but still ran reliably. From my grandfather to his youngest son and now to me. my son will be the next owner. Living far up north you have no choice but atv and snowmobile for transportation. thats why it is so high for milage. 24 years old

Boy this is an old thread. My 700 now has 6000 and still runs great without using any oil. ( unlike my 660). I plan on using it for one more year and then trade for something new. Hopefully 800cc or 900cc.
