Are you sure you have the silicone ring installed on the inside?

Little high priced. Search for BMH-DZUS-PINS You get 3 for around 10 bucks with the nylon retainers. Exact same ones.

It does sound like you need to change the receivers to keep them latched.
But more importantly, it does not sound like you are using the retainer clips on the inside of the fasteners. You should be able to drive 100 km with them not fastened and not loose one. Get good metal, one way retainers.

Enjoy, not quite as good quality wise as the yamaha ones, but when you have 10 extra who cares.

Over 6000 miles, never lost any! They should have retainers on the back, look like a star washer.

You are not alone I too have gone through more than my share of these. I found that the short dezus clips will replace the two longer ones and will not loosen and fall out because of poor fit. You have to push a little harder to get them in but at least once in they stay.

Boy, the way they are on my sled I would expect the plastic to tear before one of those came off. They work great for me

I had the nylon retainers in the back so they don't get lost. They didn't fit on the longer ones that came with the trail tank. I went to ace hardware and bought some push on metal retainers (not metric, but went on fairly easily and won't come off. I also used a couple rubber o rings on one of them that kept coming loose. 1200 mi, so far so good!

Nylon metal retainer, I've lost a couple here and there, maybe my riding style maybe someone on the production line Monday morning at any rate it appears they are not welded on, hey #*$&@ happens.
Also have broken my share of those little plastic so called screws that hold the wildsheild to the fairing. Most expensive little suckers ever lol
