When I open the windows on the track- do I need to or should I clip those windows?
I opened my windows 3 seasons ago. No signs of any wear issues. It seemed to reduce track howl and slide wear. I have 2 RX1's this way.
Another experiment in progress is to compare wear between the old style slider and new one. So far, not much difference.

I opened mine up 2 yrs ago with the intention of clipping them, but still haven't clipped them. No issues so far other than I know I have more friction not having them clipped.

The pressure on each clip is greater when there are fewer clips on which to distribute the sled's weight. Better, but not essential, to clip them.
A note on cutting the windows; the easiest way to open the windows is by getting a rectangular steel pipe and sharpening it from the inside. A piece of 2x4 under the window and hit the cookie cutter with a heavy mallet.
