I'm looking to get a GPS and would like opinions on what mounts well on the Apex and works well in the cold and wet weather.

alright then LOL
Some good reading, but if you dont find what you need post up in that section and we'll try to get you what you need.

A friend of mine just got a Garmin Vista HCx for about $200. The x means it takes a memory expansion card. I use a Garmin map60CS never had any problems with the cold even down to -40.

check out the new bushnell gps on cabellas and the name of it is onix 400 or in bushnell.com.

I just bought a GPS about a month ago. I have thrown this unit through some rough conditions...I bought the Garmin 76csx...I have had it out in 15 below zero and it works great...It's water proof, comes with 128mb chip (bought a 2gig one for $30)...Very pleased with this unit and would recommend it to anyone...The only thing is if you dont leave it plugged in constantly, just set your display light to stay on constantly, that keeps the lcd warm enough so it doesn't get jittery... I just plug mine in to the 12v plug on my sled and away i go...

Garmins are nice with the ram mount
