5.5" near shore and 4.25" "out in the middle". Yes I walked out there!
The ice is Zamboni smooth with a dusting of fresh snow.
The ice is "Black, solid, and kinda creepy" when you clear the snow away.
No open water anywhere I could see.
Disclaimer.....Ice is never really "Safe" no matter how thick. The reports I give are for information only and are not to be misconstrued as me claiming the ice is safe for either foot travel or snowmobile. Was with Ted this weekend at Back Lake. The sled has "so much power" now that it actually became "violent. He made some adjustments and got control over it. Ted Jr. got off the thing 2-3 times and looked like he had seen a ghost. The thing is absolutely "insane". I took some videos and will try and post them after I get a chance to edit them.
