part # different

I am tring to buy mountain cables for my regular rx-1. I look on some of the sites and see an 8EP and an 8FA the numbers after that is the same.

8EP-26330-00-00 - 8FA-26330-00-00 choke cable

8EP-26311-01-00 - 8FA-26311-01-00 Throttle cable

8EP-25872-00-00 - 8FA-25872-00-00 Brake

I can not find the difference. Can Any one help me out?

First 3 letters are the model number code. So yes, they are the same part, just for a different model

well that stinks. that means they are the same length.

you need to go with 05 rx mountain cables ,,,must be 05...they put higher seat and riser on 05 hence longer cables., the 03-04 wont be longer,,,in process of doing my sled now with apex bars and nytro seat on 05 rx1 and i think im going with the fly 6-8 inch adjustable riser,,,,hers the throttle cable #8FW-26311-00-00 hope this info is what your looking for,,,

this is my old 03 mtn with the stock factory cables and an 05 shorty with mtn cables for the riser i did not think there was a diiff from 03 to 05 mtn's in length - but I have been wrong before.

I think you may have pm'd me on this rx-1 blue just ask the dealer about the lengths

talk to port yamaha today,,,,they told me 05 was longer then 03-04...

just look at 04 then 05 micro file u will see that 05 has a riser block,,,meaning longer cables...its under steering oem parts fiche

Crap. I ordered the 03 mountain stuff and the choke cable came today. same length. so I started to look at part numbers and saw the 2 different. I now need to return them and buy the 05 ones. I did ask about the length in a previous post. O well just delays reassemble for a few days.

I did that myself a few years back , so now I have some brand new parking brake and throttle cables for an RX-1
