Phazer is light, what do you think of the heavier ones?

I had a chance to ride a 2011 Apex SE.

Wow what power! I could stand that thing straight up from a dead start! (1.75" Backcountry track)

Monoshock II skid does not have the kick up you get on the Phazer, silky smooth in comparison. I could ride 250k and be comfortable ond not tire out I'm sure.

For all the Naysayers about EPS Steering... just ride one! That 700lb (er so) macine steers WAY easier than ours!

But if you like to stand up man you get sore legs fast! Rider forward chassis definitely has its advantages!

Was a great time and I almost barfed uner full acceleration on that beast, BUT the Phazer is still my favorite feel.

Anyone else?

Haven't ridden anything with power steering, but maybe they should have focused on fixing the steering issues instead of covering them up with EPS.

A lot of people are saying that with minor adjustments from the factory help this sled a lot, so why not do some of those too?

Weight has never meant much at all to me. Well, sense reverse came out!

my dads got the vectors and i mean doin 100+ down the grades i like it but mines 10 times better in the windey stuff i leave him wishing he had one. I get bored with the vectors they are only good for groomed trails stock. just too heavy to dock or ditchbang which is what i do most of the time LOVE my phazer it would be sweet to get one in the 100hp range but similar weight maybe the yamaha team will listen... For comfort and groomed trails im sure the electric steering is effortless and perfect just not for me

I have not had a chance to ride the EPS but the way i look at it is that the sled is already heavy so why not? How heavy can the system be. If the sled weights 700 lbs ten say the EPS adds 20 lbs that only add 2.8% to the weight. If it makes it feel say 50% lighter then why not? Would sure like to try one some day...

For long trail cruising and power Apex is awesome.Having ridden my buddies XTX Nytro though I think its a better step in between. He has the Hygear suspension on it and it is just about as flat handling in corners as the Apex but still can easily stand up and take the big bumps comfortably all day long.I took it on his small MX track and it is nowhere near as fun as Phazer on the jumps since you really can feel the wieght in front but still much better than a Apex and power is plenty enough to never get bored with.

I think even with a bar riser legs get sore on the Apex compared to the Phazer/Nytro. Just the style of sled.

As far as EPS masking poor steering....JUST TRY ONE!!!! The efffect is amazing!

I predict we will see EPS in a lot of the Yamaha lineup eventually it works so well.

Love this thread. I've never had the chance to ride a phazer but am seriously considering augmenting my sled with a one next season.

I rode 2 different Apex's at the Yamaha ride. HOLY #$%&* :nos :nos

EPS was Excellent.
Sled didn't feel heavy at all.
POWER out the wazzoo :die
For my riding style the bars were too low and way to close. Legs definately got sore playing in the bouncy soft stuff. It was almost uncomfortable trying to even stand up. Didn't feel right at all.
Be a great long travel, comfee sled.
The XTX (I think the long track one) had great traction but didn't corner all that well.
Sitting and a crack of the throttle and the thing would just sit on the beaver tail with the ski's flapping like wings. Very stable as well. (pretty much at any speed btw!!!!)

That motor in a Phazer would rock!! Now there's a project some one should tackle out there!!
