Hi guys,
I'm looking for a 2008 phazer rtx and was wondering what people are paying for one. I've only got one price from a dealer and he told me $8300 canadian. What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't buy one till they have all the issues sorted out. The resale is going to stink on these things with the reputation they're developing. IMO
Wait for an '09 if you must have one, prices will likely drop to equalize with the U.S. price next year.

Is it just the FX and RTX models that are having suspension issues or are all of the pahzers being affected? Also, are there any other issues with these sleds?

FX's are by far the worst.
Starter failures, can cause anything from a no start to extensive engine damage on the PTO side. No word on when a fix will be released. Affects all 2007 and 2008's.

I bought an 07 phazer GT in December from a dealer in Minnesota. It was $1800 cheaper than any price I could get in Canada. There is no duty on snowmobiles and they are very easy to import.
The only catch is that I have to take to the US for warranty work. I can make a lot South of trips for $1800.
I would have preferred to buy it in Canada, but I saved almost 33%. I feel bad for the Canadian dealers. I think Yamaha wants to try and gouge us, and the dealers end up paying for it.
You may want to get some prices South of the border.

Lol. Its simple. If the sled breaks, fix it. Threres no one saying you can't. Either sled would be fine, and ya what kind of rider are you?(warriorwithin)

I am looking into phazers south of the border. What kind of a process is it to get it to canada? Will the dealer still warranty the sled even if I bring up to canada?
As for how I ride. I like to a do little of everything but for where I'm at right now I want to ride it aggresively through some tight trails and do some moderate jumps with it. I ride pretty hard.

Thanks for all your help guys. I ended up finding a white/orange 08 RTX for $7999.99 with $500 yamaha bucks in ontario. I'll be picking it up in a week or so. I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the posts here but I really want to give the phazer a try and the price was decent so why not.
