Hey all, I have an 08 Phazer MTX. that i bought for my son (14). He likes the sled but feels it is too tippy for him. He has been riding for 3 years, previously on an arctic cat 370 fan. I have been thinking about getting a turbo kit (or supercharger) for the Phazer and keeping it for my self, and giving him my 09 rev xp summit 600 e-tec. I weigh in around 235 with all my riding gear. We ride some trails and seasonal roads here in mi. and try to be off-trail as much as we can. I also make a few trips to the snowies each year. I would like more power in the mountains any way, so should I look at a turbo for the phazer or is it just too high strung already? I an NOT mechanically inclined at all. So I just want to be able to ride it once a kit is installed.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Ben

where are you located? i just got my parts in and will be starting my turbo phazer set up. with any aftermarket parts its always helpful to be some what mechanically inclined. a turbo or supercharger requires just a little bit more understanding so you know what to look for on your gauges and other noises.

I'm in Holland Mi. I understand watching the gauges for egt, boost pressure and so on. I just want a set up that is reliable enough to give a bump in HP. But not get too crazy.

Consider by the time you spend the $$$ and effort into tuning to boost that Phaser, you'd be farther ahead just upgrading to a stock Nytro as it will be faster.

Ben ill let you know how my low boost turbo phazer turns out. I'm only looking for 5 psi and use of pump gas with a slight octane bump if need be. Your about the same size of me and I think riding conditions will be similar. I just want a little extra edge on the sled for now

I'll run my supercharged phazer against any nytro that doesn't have boost and wax it every time. Look into doing a super charger on the phazer, they are a blast and easy to maintain.

Thanks Matt, who's kit did you buy? and how much $$? I am curious as to how the Phazer will hold up with a little boost in it.
