Finally got around to getting some pics of my mnt. As for the Q's:
First thing I found out from the Horns I need to do is raise the bars at least 2"(i'm 6'4"). What is the best setup to do this? Next, are their any good deals/suggestions on Big-Wheel-Kits? And lastly, is there a replacement for the side panel fastners? Some kind of quicksnap or pushpins, because the philips heads aren't cutting it? I know I've seen a sled with some kind of different fastners(black turbo baker sleds?)...
Another thing, what all can be done(cheaply) to lighten up the front end? I've just got the lightweight battery, removed the toolbox...whats next? Thanks.

Forgot to add... I'm pretty happy with the performance. Every 50 miles I put on it I gained about 4mph. Ended up with a total of 224 miles in the Big Horns. At 220 miles I topped out at 93mph @ 9k rpm @ ~9250'(indicated). Walked by a new RMK 159" so I was pleased
Still couse use a SC, perhaps next year.

I have got to get me one of those Ferrari stickers. I have a red RX-1 that it would look real good on.
I'm still a novice but I didn't have a problem climbing. Made it up Fiberglass Hill in the Horns without a problem. If I can get the video from one of our riding partners i'll post it. The simpliest way to describe this sled is, Tourquie. I can nail it WOT and lift the front off the snow. One riding buddy got on mine and rode for quite a while, afterward he said the power was just awesome... you start so quick b/c of a good powerband verses his 800 XC Poo which he says he has to wind up like a toy and then all he gets is track spin in the steep and deep. I have to get alot more seat time before I try any major hillclimbing and report on it.
The stickers are genuine Ferrari resin stickers off ebay, ~$30. The prancing horse emblem on the back between the exhausts got lost in the hills, i'm going to have to find a better way to mount it(even Guerilla glue didn't hold). It makes the paint scheme come alive alot more than the yammi stickers. I also consider the 4-yammis as the Ferraris of the sleds. Maybe not the fastest, maybe not the cheapest, but smooth running, eye catching, and built with some craftsmanship some others don't even compare too.
There has got to be more cheap/easy power to be had. Lightening up the front would help the most I think. Hopefully the SC's will start to come down in price before too long.

There's only one other cheap way to lighten up the front end, and you are quite tall (like me) so you probably have some good potential in this area (also like me).......... push-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups and jogging

All of that has been taken care of already. I think it's more of a technique problem. I wish there was a FAQ here with pics and/or vids on proper mountain riding, along with common does and don't even if there a common sense thing....

dugedug - a goodbang for the buck on the front end is to buy a Diamond S mesh hood and an after market head light. I used a Trailtech 50W spot light. If memory serves me right, I saved about 12lbs in weight and you get a much cooler engine compartment. The bad news is there is way more engine/clutch noise coming through the mesh hood. He aslo sells titaniium parts for them. Pretty spendy though.

To lighten up the front end (the order I would do things)
Remove Sway bar
C-Moly A-Arms
Billet Spindles
Fox Floats or titanium springs

get rid of battery support structure by relocating your light weight battery
get rid of airbox (ecp or mod airbox)
light weight brake disc, MPI chrome moly steering shafts $$$$
if not a mesh hood, at least get rid of the light pod (heavy, located high)
get rid of the handle bar cover and foam (like 06's)
I saw a Racers Edge super modified Turbo RX1 in Revelstoke with plastic fasteners holding on the side panels. Other things he appeared to have done include Titanium front brackets to support hood hinge, lightweight hood, alum or Ti to repace big steel a-arm atttach bolts (at bulkhead), lots of Ti bolts in front, Alum steering links under hood.....
Every pound off the front seems to make a lot of difference. I even match the gas I take to how far I'm going, I can save 30lbs right there. I get down to 3 gallons (30 miles left) and I can go anywhere. Gas weight is up high with exhaust having to pass under.
You want to see good mountain riding buy the videos....mountain mod mania(s), thunderstruck(s)
