2012 Nytro xtx, oft relocate, oilite bushings, comfort clutch, tunnel block, tailight relocate, cr10EK plugs, copper donuts, tuner skis, Grizz Tracks gusset kit. Excell x wheels. Mo-Flow console vent and curved vents.
Hi all! I purchased a 2012 Nytro XTX last November. It only had 648 miles on it and it was the first sled I had owned in about 18 years or so. Last season I started with tuner skis and dupont sliders as the first upgrades. I never thought I would end up putting on roughly 1600 miles in my first year back on the trails! This summer I decided to do some more mods to my Nytro. Nothing too extreme, but fun to do none the less, and I as I keep going I find I want to do more.......The mods I did this summer included: OFT relocator, OFT copper exhaust gaskets, cr10ek spark plugs, tail light relocation, made my own tunnel block off, oilite bushings for the front, comfort clutch kit, Mo-flow console vent and curved side vents, added 135mm idlers to preserve the slides, Grizztracks gusset kit, and last but not least polished the tunnel. I still have a few 135mm wheels to get on the skid yet and an oil change to get done. Im still looking at intake and exhaust options as well as fuel controls, but I dont know if that is needed as Im probably 75% on trails and 25% off. I also want to invest in a set of scratchers for running on hard pack and a trail tank.
I started with polishing the tunnel, doing the exhaust gaskets, and changing the plugs. I'd like to say thanks to all of those who helped me out with information on this site.....Thanks Everyone!

what you use to polish the tunnel? looks great! I started doing my tunnel with a huge polishing angle grinder with an 8" wheel and the compound bars but its not turning out that well.

Nice list of mods, Coming along nicely! I put on the wrp seat and now the ergonomics are great, can't wait to see how it feels on the trail. :sled1:

WRP seat is AWESOME. First time you try it you are gonna wonder if you made the wrong decision. If you don't have a riser get one or you will feel like your on a race bike.

Exactly, I have the oft Relocator and before the wrp seat I felt like my hands were way high, chopper style, now they compliment each other perfectly. I'm 6'6 and my legs are so much more comfortable now. Bring on the snow!

I started with some 4" buffers that go in a drill as well as some cone shaped buffers for the drill. I used red and white buffing compounds. If you have real heavy oxidation, you can use the black compound first. After i get it looking halfway decent, I swithced to a 6" buffer on a 4" angle grinder. Dont skimp on the compound, you need to make sure there is plenty on the buffing pad. After that I hand polished with Mothers aluminum polish and soft clean rags. Some guys also wet sand the whole tunnel with a real high grit abrasive like 1200 to 2000 grit before they polish.......I'm not that patient......I still have some spots that are being a pain to get the "swirl" marks out of........I think I probably have about 10 hrs invested in polishing.......;)!

I was looking at those seats, do you get the foam and cover and do it yourself or do you send your seat in for that?

You get the seat cover and foam, do it yourself or have an upholsterer do it. I bought my seat used from a friend. They had an upholsterer do it and even added more foam before putting the cover on.image.jpg

you find an easy way to clean your buffing pads? I started with the black and now that #*$&@ is caked in the buffing wheels i got.
