I have a 2009 Apex RTX with Pilot Skis. Time to change my carbides and I thought I would install the most aggressive set I could find…….bigger is better right??? Spoke to another guy who put an aggressive set on and he said they dug in so well that the steering became extremely heavy and tiring after a long day. Any thoughts??? Thanks
What have you got on there now? I ran 6" in the middle and 4" on the outside last year, and it worked pretty good, heavy steering was not an issue. I going to experiment with snowtrackers on the pilots this season, but not until the trails setup a bit. Steering will also be heavier if you've shortend your limiter straps.

What are you setting the pilots toe-in at? 1/8"?

Mine is set up with about 1/4" toe out or at least as close as I can get it. I believe the manual says 0 to 1/2" toe out. That process can drive you crazy with alignment and play in the steering linkage.

I ran 6" shaper bars up the middle and the stock 4" on the outside and found it to be a good balance

The shapers are the hot ticket, you can skimp on the outsides because they rarely 'dig' during nrmal riding..
