OK, I know this has been beaten to death, I just got a new 2009 Vector LTX and with my 06, I had the shims and the shaper bars, which was good, but not great.

With this sled I want it to be great, I can find a set of used Pilot 5.7s ( i dont go off trail much so no need for 6.9) for about 100 bucks. Now I have read great reviews on both, but which is better? The Pilots or the SnowTrackers?

The thing that I am worried about with the snotracker is that they will wear out in a year or 2, I am in NY and often dont get a ton of snow. Based on this it seems like the Pilots are a better buy, but curious to see other opinons.

BTW I ride about 2500 mi a year. :4STroke:

SNOW TRACKERS hands down if you have enough snow. I even put them on my pilots too! Use shaper bars on the pilots for low snow days, and snowtrackers when theres enough snow.

For no darting either use woodys dually/slim jims or snowtrackers. Woodys duals will push in corners but have no dart. Snowtrackers rip and rail the corners with no darting but need snow. Depends how fast you want to go thru corners and if you have enough snow for snowtrackers. I swear I've had every brand of skis/carbides made and I think these are your two best choices to cure the darting. Duece double bar is also a good choice for low snow conditions.

i have pilots on my apex. ive never run snowtrackers, so i dont know how well they work. but we ride the same trails im sure and i would have to say that the snowtrackers would get beat up pretty quickly. i really like my pilots, totally changed the way my apex handled. i would go with the pilots. i paid 240 for mine brand new last year so 100 bucks is well worth it.

I think that is what I might do, if I dont like them I know i can sell them and get my money back. Whos trails do you mostly ride? My parents live in Elma, I am ususally only on marilla long enough to get to Folsomdale, where I am a member. Much better trails.

i live at the end of the trail past Mia's. cobbers is just across the field from me. i belong to the sno mob. but we usually head south. it depends on who i go out with. alot of times we do a weekday loop. its about 115 miles. kodiaks to byrncliff, out to java, on to bliss, arcade, chaffee, holland then cut up over the hill to strykersville and back home. what sled are you running? shoot me a pm, we'll have to hook up for some rides. hopefully we'll get some snow soon to set up for base.
