Plans for my RX1 this summer- am I making any mistakes

Do what ever you like. Knees below hips is MUCH more comfortable. My dad is 5'7" and has a vector with the same seating as a RX1 and we swap sleds on my apex and he loves mine and following him his back is straight up and down and not hunched over like it is on his.

FYI when looking for apex seats there are two different foam varieties and stiffness. The accent stripe is in the middle of the side of the seat is the softer foam, if its on the bottom of the side of the seat its the stiffer foam. I go 220lbs and the softer one was to soft and I swapped a guy that is lighter then me for the stiffer one and it was perfect. The soft one I sank into the seat to much and ended up in the same seating position as the rx1.

Stiffer foam is on 07+ RTX and all mountain sleds
softer is on everything else and GT sleds.

What is an all black seat for an Apex?

lake effect snow risers are awsome I love mine

X 2 on the risers, I have them on both my sleds, and Chris is a great guy to deal with. I rode with him quite a bit the past season.

You can easily die the colored seats black as I and many others have if you want. I've done 2 so far and both have held up perfectly.

:-o Riser on it's way, struck a deal on a brand new Apex seat (firmer one) too! Found a great deal on the track, so it's been a banner end of the week for me! My RX Jack seat also came today, my daughter will like riding all the more, just hope it works with the new seat!

LakeEffects stuff rocks and the 2.5" seems to be dead perfect for my height!! IceRipper track is on it's way, any stock parts I should replace just for convienence while I'm swapping it out? My sled has 5k on it.

Well after some reading on here, I ordered a new drive axle and cogs complete from Laneo. I'll replace the bearings too, since they're cheap. Too many stories of drive axle breakage for my liking. I've been looking at the manual, and this doesn't look like fun.

Doing the same thing, just wanted to put in a new track and found more then I want to do. Just take your time and its easy if you get mad just stop for the day that's what I do or thing be again to fly.lol

Just got off the phone after a nice talk with Tom Hartman, and per our discussion the sled is getting new no-slip drivers too. Thinking Supercharger next year maybe, so that was a good thought on his part. Also talked with Brian at TeamFast today, but they were having computer issues, so I won't hear from him till next week. It's a wonderful thing, this staying excited about the sled in the off season!!

Tom is a great guy he will help you with every thing you need. I have a lot of his parts on my sleds and they work great.

Hey Hows the upgrades goin? I'm just over the hill from You South Dayton that is, so maybe thats a couple hills? I have done many of the same upgrades . You will love the pull of that 136". And that apex seat is just the ticket for opening the knee up a bit. Ive had back probs for years, and have said, if I was still ridin the old iron, that I would have been out of ridin years ago. My back is full of probs! Loved the RX but the Apex was night and day better for me. You will Love your sled all over again. Maybe we can do some ridin next year, and good luck with the sled! Honk

Seat is on. HID kit came today, as did my tunnel extension, anti-ratchet drivers and the scratchers from Tom Hartman. Still waiting for a quote from Brian at TeamFast on the shocks & 136"Airwave
