Guys I want to put a set of plastic Yamaha skis off my 09 Nytro XTX on a 2000 700 Venture(trailing arm suspension).I have searched but have not come up with a definate answer what needs to be done.

First, what ski rubber do I need to mount these 09 skis?

Second, I have heard the front end will be 1.25" lower with the plastic skis, is this accurate?

I would like to put the plastic skis on the Venture, hopefully with some help from here I can do this mod.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I have a 97 trailing arm venture, and I added 98 SRX plastic skis to it. They were bolt in and ride and lost no ground clearance. The newer type skis like you have will lower the front as you noted.

You can add them, since you already own them, but you may need to dial it in due to the slight lowering you will do.

I don't know if you can get these to sit exactly as the old skis did. Now maybe if you know a CNC guy, he could make a set of taller saddles for your xtx skis.

Thanks for the reply. I was at the dealer this afternoon and looking at the schematics for both the 2001 Venture(first year for plastic skis on the trailing arm sleds) and my 08 Vector, they both use the same ski rubber. I am thinking it will work. When I put my new skis on the Vector I am going to try the yamaha plastics on the Venture. I will post up results after I swap the skis.

Yeah, they should just bolt on. But you might lose a little ground clearance. Let us know how it goes.

I put Apex skis on my 1999 Venture they bolted right on but I don't remember what rubbers I used...I never really looked at the ground clearance , it didn't make a big deal to me ....
