Hi!
Can someone tell me if there is any difference betwen the skis on the Venture Multi Purpose and the VK Pro?
I need to replace the skis on my Venture MP, and I can get the VK ski to a much better price.
Venture MP partnr: 8FM-F3711-00-00
VK Pro partnr: 8FN-F3711-00-00
Visually I cant see any difference...
Thanks/

In the specs of the sled on Yamaha's site, it describes the skis as "VK style". I think they are the same. Probably the letter change in the part number (M vs N) is just a model designation for the same part.
But, why bother with Yamaha's crappy stock skis. For just a bit more, go for a set of Slydog Powederhounds. I got a set of Trailhounds for my MP and it steers like it's on rails now. Only reason I only got Trailhounds instead of the Powderhounds is because I got them at a lower price.

I went to My local Yamaha dealer today and looked it up. It seems like the only difference is the mounting point on the ski. It is located about 1 inch more backwards on the VK ski.
Do you think it Will make any difference?

A huge difference in steering pressure and even more with darting. The Vk having less darting and a little
more steering pressure.
more steering pressure.

Do you think the sled will will be crappy to drive if I use the VK ski?
Im not a very experienced rider and this is my first sled, so I havent tried a lot of different sleds and different setups before

If there is a difference and you're only changing one ski, I would stick with the ski that's specified for it. It could change steering characteristics. It would be like having two different sized tires on a car on the front. If you're replacing both, I would look at something aftermarket as Yamaha skis are really bad.
