Anyone have any experience here. i have lots of weights from doing clutching on my slowaris back in the day. u guys buy conversion kit or machine weights out. yamaha primary clutch pins are too fat

When I get to the shop I will check on the brand but there is a kit with a smaller diameter bolt for the weights and bushings that fit the Yamaha sheave. No machining necessary.

Ya i saw the kit. 88$ little inserts with polaris pins. did u do any tuning on non turbo engine? I see intercooler in your pic lol. I'm gonna start with 62 gram polaris wieghts. compare them to old 67g and new 82g apex weight. the polaris have that nice aggressive curve allows for lighter weight to do similar job as heavy apex wieghts but with better back shifting. from what I can figure. Maybe... lol.

Some results... 62 gram hits 11,000 from 70, 80, 100 km/hr when i punch it. Seem to hit nice and spool up fast. Rev up. Sometimes the 62 hit rev limiter. Well only once in 100km ride . Second half of the ride was 64 gram weights hit 10,600 from all the same speeds. To me they don't seem to hit and rev the same. Seem a little doggy. This all is at 70 or faster then punch it. I was thinking 62 gram and drop 20 lb of primary spring. Aka get a lighter spring. Any comments? ( i doubt it lol... it's all a secret) but I'm grateful if there is. I'm gonna continue to putter with it. In the end i know an ulmer kit is the way to go but I'm having fun. Oh and i have ulmer air box. An exhaust and 23 tooth gear. Just tinkering

The weight of the Polaris weights is only part of the puzzle. What exact Polaris weight are you using ? It is entirely possible that you have too much heel weight and not enough tip weight or you may have a primary spring that has much to high of a rate. Also you do not say what secondary helix you are using and what spring is in the secondary either as there are four choices ie.... White, Pink, Silver, Red. Lots of possible combinations with different outcomes.

Stock helix. 70 degrees. Pink. Epi wieghts. Yes i want to try a softer sprung primary. U got any setups to share? I been running the 64 all day today. Heavy snow conditions. I might go back to 62 tomorrow. I only hitiing 9800 on lake in deep snow and 10,200 on soft packed snow with 64 but last ride i was nailing 11,200 with 62 but it was hard hard trail. We see how it is. Im in no rush. Im just playing with things. i am interested in machine the helix collar

In your earlier post you were over-Reving and now you are low on rpms. You will have to get some consistent results with a clutch setup before any of us will be able to give you a sound clutching recommendation. I have no idea what weights epi has provided you with. What are they recommending that you do? Maching your helix will provide no benefit until everything else is properly calibrated.

62g over rev a bit. 64 under rev a touch. Either of them preform well. The results are consistent when i don't change wieghts lol.
