It is more of a data acquisition piece. It does allow some slight adjustment to the fuel curve (there is a low rpm, medium rpm, high rpm adjustment), but it's not near as precise for fine tuning inside the Power Commander itself. If you run a PCV model with a Autotune or Wideband Commander and also the POD-300 you have about as much data as you will ever need for tuning.

The POD gauge by itself won't pick up any data. It must be used with a Power Commander fuel controller or Autotune/Wideband Commander to pickup data. The Power Commander with the pod will give you TPS, RPM, etc. The Autotune/Wideband Commander will give you your AFR readings.

Does that do away with the gems I think it be nice to set up a couple different maps on it one for trail one for racing and one for bad gas/low octane. Is that doable?

All the different maps you speak of would be great but you still need some way to change boost along with the maps which the PCV does not do.

Pc5 pti, you can toggle between different fuel maps and with a boost switch you can have multiple boost settings along with proper fuel mapping for each setting. Check out power commanders website for info, they have some awesome stuff!

Would really like to have just one sleek stealth gauge that can be seen and do the rest without everybody wondering what all the gauges are doing and for. Nobody out there has this setup

Pc5 pti with an ignition module would make for an awesome fueling and ignition setup for a turbo viper, with the right tunes and timing curves you could really make some awesome power!

Yes, if you went with a PCV PTI unit, you would take the GEMS control box off and the PCV PTI would replace it. You can toggle between 2 different maps with the flip of a switch if you like, you could setup a simple boost switch and do the same with a boost switch as well.

The thing about the POD-300, with most of the turbo mapping, is that it doesn't read 0 boost at idle, it is programmed to read atmospheric pressure, so it reads say 14.x lbs of pressure at sea level (then if running 6 lbs you will see 20.x lbs at wide open throttle under load).
