I haven't come across any factory Yamaha/OEM Prefilter to block snow from going through the vents/screens on the side panels of the Nytro's. Does something from Yamaha exist for this?
If not/either way, I found out by accident that the Ski-doo REV (not the XP, but the original REV Platform) Prefilter kits fit the Yamaha Nytro's vents like they were made for them!
Just a tidbit I wanted to pass along.
Cheers,
YK

I used Petscreen to cover the side vents. It looks great and if I remember correctly it cost less than $20 to do both my sides, both sides on an attack, and with enough left over to do my new sled.
Also, that stupid vent down on the lower right in front of the oil reservoir, it lets the snow in, then it melts and creates a solid chunk of ice that prevents the side panel from coming off...I drilled a bunch of holes around that vent, then put two layers of pet screen over it, and pushed small zip ties through the petscreen and the small holes I drilled. tightened them all up, and it looks great, works great too.

Nice. I seal up the vent next to the oil tank with some general sealant. That vent is definitely a major pain. Any snow that gets in anywhere can warp and damage the panels and belly pan if you're doing a lot of powder riding and see any cold temperatures where the melted snow can't drain and turns into ice chunks instead.

My buddy with an XTX had discovered that as well, so when I parted out my Rev I kept the hood screens.

Ya I had been hanging onto mine on a shelf since 2005. Sled parts always come in handy, whatever brand.

I don't see why they wouldn't. You're just cutting a hole and placing those overtop from what I see online. Never used them myself.

Buy the 18"x18" pre-filter from your local Doo dealer and some 3M spray adhesive. Remove the vent, spray the adhesive on it, apply pre-filter, trim the excess, re-install vent. Looks factory, works great, and costs about $30. There's enough in that small sheet to also do the vents buy the headlight.

pictures are a lot of work. I gotta walk back to the far shed, uncover it, take the picture... ugh, then walk back etc etc. I'll see if I can find the energy tonight. But I still have to bale 20 acres of hay, and unload it all today.
My buddy had frog skin on his polaris, ordered the whole kit from dennis kirk I believe. Good stuff, worked well.... until he went in the bushes and started ripping it off. Using spray glue and attaching it right to the vent is a good idea.
I thought about sealing that little lower vent off completely, but thought it might help a little with cooling. The sled runs plenty hot anyways, and doesn't have very good venting from the factory. I know if we have problems with icing this coming year, its gonna get sealed off for sure

aluminum screen would probably work. But the Super strong Plastic pet screen is probably a better choice. Plus its Glossy black, and pretty cheap.
