in a earlier post i asked about replacing the bushings and primary spring on my heelclicker clutch kits i have left from last season, they have aprox 3500 miles on each kit. I have decided that im going to replace the spring and see if the bushings need replacement when i install the kit. According to the instructions the white spring has a rate of 100 - 300, id like to replace with a titanium spring, but i have some questions first:
1- most yamaha springs seem very low as far as spring rate goes compared to the rate of the white spring, is the 100-300 rating incorrect?
2- Where can i get a ti spring with this same rate, i know hot seat performance is a distrubitor for renton coil springs, and they have a spring with a rate very clos to the white one, but its for a polaris, can this be used in place of the white one, and will the length and dimater be the same?
3- will i hurt anything by just changing the primary to ti and leaving the secondary stock?
4 - i also want to do the overdrive clutch sheath, is it worth the 100 bucks, what gains has any one seen, i dont plan on gearing, i just firgured that it might allow me to fully shift out and gain a little top end?
Thanks for your responses

No that spring will not work in a Yamaha clutch. Yamaha cluthches use larger diameter springs and the Polaris springs are too small to fit. Yamaha measures their force im Kilograms and Polaris uses Pounds. If I remember right , the conversion factor is 2.2 to 1. So, to find a Yamaha spring equivalent to that spring would be 300/2.2=137 and 165/2.2=75. so you would need to get a 75/137 spring.
If you get a Titainium spring for the front it will not matter if you leave the secondary stock.
The speed sheave is a matter of debate, The theory is that you can drop 2 teeth on your gearing and keep the same top end. If you leave the gearing the same, you may gain a little top end if the motor can pull it. But not alot with a stock motor. The belt will ride to the trop of the primary because the sheaves will come together closer.
