Primary torque proceedue?

I've heard different thoughts on the torque proceedure after you have the primary clutch off.
Put back on.
Go up to 88 ftlbs, run for some miles then re-torque.
Or...
Like what is on Hartman's site.
Go up to 88 ftlbs, then back bolt off, then re-torque to 44 ftlbs.

What do you guys think?

Go up to 88 ftlbs, then back bolt off, then re-torque to around 50 lbs.
Same as yamaha spec.....
