I have an 03 RX-1 ER LE. I just put in all new exhaust donuts. Now, I'm trying to sync. the carbs. Set the idle at about 1400 RPM. Hooked up the MORGAN PRO and the thing will not stay running long enough to sync. This is the first time I have tried this and not sure if I'm doing something wrong. To make sure I have it set up right, can anyone tell me what order the carbs are in and does it make a difference on the Morgan Pro which side you start from? Thanks.

Thanks, I actually used that, but it still will not stay running long enough to dial it in. When it first starts the number one carb rod is almost to the top and the rest are just slightly moving; then it shuts down.

On my buddy's RX1 we set the gas tank on a stand beside the sled hooked up...

Are you using a Tee to attach to the carb closest to the fuel pump? That carb drives the fuel pump. Unless you have a tee in there, the carbs will run out of gas cause you disconnected the fuel pump. Now, ... you can do the sync with the Fuel Pump disconnected. But you have to be quick about it. Use a Tee or be quick are your two choices.

I had the same problem with my RS Nytro. At first I thought I really messed it up when it shut down. So I unhooked the carbtuner and put the hoses to sled back and with a little choke it fired right up then I realized it was just running out of gas. It took me 2 days to sync mine but that's because I would do one carb #3 to #2 and by then the sled would shut off plus I had the sled going and it was already hot and I know it was close to over heating so I finished it the next day.

Not sure if you're sled is similar to the RS sleds but with just a 4'th carb but for mine I believe the #3 carb is the one closest to the brake lever side. then 2 in middle and then #1 to far right on gas side. When I set my carbtune pro up I labed the hoses with a small piece of tape and also used a marker and wrote the carb #'s ontop of the black carb caps. Then I also labelend my morgan carbtune 1-3 and just connected them all to the correct numbers. This made it easy to double check everything so I know I wouldn't turn the wrong screw or look at the wrong reading.

I had to sync carbs #3 to carb #2 first by using the carb screw that was between those two. Then sync carb #1 to carb #3 by using the screw between carb two and one. Sounds confusing but once I had it set up and seen what I had to do it was really simple.

At first hookup my all my carbs were out of sync especially #1 with number 3. Carb 1 was almost twice as high of a reading.

Once the carbtune is hooked up those readigns in the toobs should bounce a little so you'll know you're getting the pressure it should have. Thats my understanding.

We intentionally set them high to avoid the reduction gear and clutch rattles. Usually at about 1500 RPM, the rattles go away. But, if you have your sync spot on, 1000 -1200 RPM is not bad either.

Changing the idle will Not change the sync.

The rattle is normal.

If you sync the carbs very accurately, there is less potential for rattle.

If you set the idle above 1500 RPM there is typically less rattle.

See attached file. The Idle Adjustment screw is right down there by the throttle cable connection to the carbs, in the center of the carb rack.
