I got my X16 guage wet this weekend. I could see moisture under the bezel. It acted up, but then began working normally. Now that it has dried out, I am getting a fast flashing E 2 reading.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? I am leaving for Cooke City in 36 hours and really would like to have the gauge working to tune this thing on its first trip to high altitude!

From what I have found so far on a little searching I did:
Error 2:
Error Message: Heater circuit open.
Problem: Damaged cable or DIN connector not fully seated.
Fix: Verify DIN connector is fully seated.
LM-1 Manual (which applies to XD-16 as well)

Thanks Allen. I was not aware that the Innovate Forums existed. I can learn some things there.
I have checked all connections, multiple times. I will call Innovate tomorrow to see if they have ideas as well.

Possible that moisture got into a connection somewhere? Di-electric grease on all connections!

I have the e 4 code flashing. Will the sensor burn out using race gas?

I checked all connections and ground wires. The blue wire is the ground for the sensor - very important that it has a strong ground source. Still nothing. I did an ohm test across the #3 and #4 pin in the sensor and go no reading (should be 2.5 ohms).
Called Innovate today. They quickly told me that the sensor was dead - get a new one. Many causes were offered for why it died so quickly - leaded fuel being one of them, another being condensation in the exhaust contacting the sensor. I will install tonight and hope for the best. Innovate told me to pull the sensor and install the plug once I had my fuel dialed in - otherwise I would be buying new ones with frequency! :ORC
I got a replacement sensor from the local VW dealer - VW part number is 021-906-262-B.
I was a bit shocked (and disappointed) looking at the forum on Innovate's website...there are a lot of people with problems with these systems!

The new sensor took care of it. Man - I hope I don't go through O2 sensors like I used to go through 2-stroke oil!
Headed to Cooke City in the morning!

I have over 500 miles on mine and it still is working fine. I have only run 110 leaded fuel also.
Sensor #2 lasted about 3 hours. Same failure. 50/50 race fuel and unleaded.
Anyone want to buy a Innovate wideband O-2 gauge cheap - I am disgusted with it. Viewing the forums on Innovate's website and talking with their tech department prompts me to go another direction.
