Pulled studs in stock 03 track-Cuts front cooler Help

The nipple track is junk. Installed Hartman 136 with 1.25 ripsaw. Have not had it hit the front exchanger, however, have ripped the heat shield off now 3 times.

But.........it was well worth it to get rid of the stock track.

I have heard there was a clearance problem with the 03. Do we really need the heat shields? I hear lots of the guys take them out....

I know the ripsaw is the way to go but I have to wait untill next year....money....

Thanks for the input!!

Do the 05's have them? I thought another thread said that. I plan on removing mine the next time I pull suspention. Quite often :o|
Tony, Where in vt do you ride? Maybe we can pull off a mini TY ride :rocks: ;)!

I've ran mine without for most of the past two years. Every time I take the skid out I'll put in a new one, but if I'm not doing something in there I just leave it off.

I've got one slight scratch on the exhaust. No hits to the front heat exhanger. When they say an inch/inch and a half for tension, make sure that it's there, especially if you run 1 3/8 studs like I do.
