As per the subject line, this is my intent, however I have never heard of anyone extending this skid. Tracks USA lists the same package for all Apex's so I hope it is safe to assume that the rail extensions are the same? I would sure like to know how the skid transfers once extended if anyone has had any experience with this.
Thanks in advance,

Hi, I put that very kit on my 06 RTX and used a Cobra 11/4 track with it and for me it was the best thing I could have ever done to that sled. You will have to readjust all you suspension setting as this will throw her off alot from a 121 set up. Weight transfer is great and it pulls so much harder than before but the track has alot to do with that too. The kit is very high quality from Tracks USA and allows for the longer slider , some kits run sliderless the last 8 inches, something I don't like. I built my own tunnel extention out of aluminium and it looks factory and really wasn't to big of a job, use bolts not rivets to attach it to the tunnel though. Hope this helps.

Do it. Its the best thing you can do to a apex. I made my 06 a 144" and love every moment I can ride it. I have a link blow to the build I did. Good luck and have fun,

These guys haven't picked up on the fact you aren't running a Mono. suspension. Call the guys at tracksusa and ask them. They're great to work with and you can trust what they tell you.

Did the same thing to the wife's 08 rtx and she loves it.

If I were you I'd consider a shock revalve over (or in addition to) an extension. The stock valving is horrible (at least on the 07). A hygear revalve is the best thing I have done to my sled. The way I look at it is an extension will make it so you can go faster when it is flat but as long as there are bumps you will still be limited by the suspension's bottoming. That being said; an extension is the next thing on my list (I would go tipped up 144 or get custom extensions made for the 141x1.5 Cobra track).

the rail extension did wonders for my 07 RTX but if you ride hard you WILL BEND YOUR RAILS!!! The extensions create added stress on the middle section of the stock rails and any rough riding will bend them if you do not have proper stiffeners made. I had to straighten my rails out 3 times over the course of 1300 miles--its a pain and its frustrating!! Jason @ Muffinworks has had the same problem and has come up with a one-piece 136" rail design that is beefed up in the problem area. He made me a set for under $600.

All the input is greatly appreciated. I do pound these things pretty hard and intend to Yamacharge this unit once the warranty is done, has anyone else experienced bent rails? Should I reinforce them from the get go? If so, how?
Thanks,

Thanks again, I spoke with the folks at tracks USA, they are great but have no rail stiffners available. I am confident that with a little direction I can fashion something on my own as I have a machine shop available to me. If anyone has a photo of the problem location I would really appreciate seeing it, or better yet a photo of the fix.
Thanks in advance,

I was just on the muffinworks website and found the billet rails, however they do not offer a complete extension kit. I am okay with ordering a la carte but have no practical experience with their products, insight please and thanks.

The billet rails we do on a per-quote basis.
However we do offer a complete extension kit (track not included). We can do the tunnel extension and rail extensions. We are the only ones that offer a power coated tunnel extension (which will look great with the black tunnel on your RTX). When rail and tunnel extensions are purchased together, there is a 10% package discount.

I would like the black anodized rails and the tunnel extension (black) as I share your views. What kind of turn around or do you have stock? Willing to prepay with cc. Will likely have you ship to Pembina ND (Minkes Parcel service) as Canadian shipments are typically a pain in the #*$&@. You can pm me or post whichever is of preference. Do you offer tracks, just not as part of the package? or should I source elsewhere? I would also like remote Fox reservoirs with enough ss braided line to mount under hood as per photos on website. Hell ......got anything else cool not on the sight?
