Putting 5.7 Pilots on My Nytro

I have finally decided on a pair of skis for my Nytro. I purchased a pair of Pilots and went to put them on today.

I knew that the Yammi rubbers would not fit the pilot skis and I also noticed that the metal inserts on the skis did not provide enough clearance for the spindle to fit into. I turned one of the metal inserts around and have enough clearance to slide the ski on. This leaves enough room for me to put a washer between the spindle and the ski.

Questions:
Do the skidoo rubber inserts work with the Yamaha Steering knuckle?

Is there a better way to attach the skis to the knuckle rather than turn one of the metal inserts around?

All help would be greatly appreciated.
