I Have a alpine turbo kit on my apex right now with a gt 25-54 with a head shim, rods and msd fuel pump. I want to put a bigger turbo on it to make more power I'm only going to be running pump fuel in it as a hot trail lake sled racing with my freinds just messing around anyways I was wondering in all of your opinions what would be the best turbo for my application. . I was thinking a gt 28-71 or a gtx 28-67 I want to make as much power as I can. I'm not to worried about turbo lag I'm going to be putting a launch master on it and I plan on only running 12lbs . What's ur thaughts ? And how much power do you think it would make with either of the turbo's and setup?

I am running a GT2860 with a 0.64 AR on the trail at 12 lbs pump gas and it's provided great response for me. The P/N I am running flows good for up to about 360HP at 22+ lbs of boost max.

Just curious , but wouldn't a 3071 be to big for pump gas . How would a 3071 be for drag racing . Wonder how responsive it would be on my 2004 rx1 . Is there a big difference from what I have now 2860 . Thanks for answers

We can make about 8lbs boost at 5000rpm under load with the right 3071 after our mods

So how would it be at 10 pounds of boost when trail riding it and then turn it up to 20 pounds to drag race it . Is the 3071 as responsive as my 2860 .

I am just question why going with a 3071 if only to go no more than 10 or 20 psi?
I can see where it would outshine the 2871 if going to 25-30 psi... but unless that???
I do have a mountain apex with a 2871 and up to 20 psi, it does produce lot of power, its only when it goes past 22-23 psi that more boost does not result in a as much more power...
I would not go UNDER 10 psi of boost using a 2871 though.... 279hp @ 10 psi on dyno on my sled.

What 2871 are you using is it the .60 ar compreser and the .64 ar exducer? and what trim if you dont mind me asking?

Was just curious how well the 3071 is . My motor is still stock with just a headshim on it . So I don't want to push more than 20 pounds of boost . The reason I ask is because I have to take my 2860 off and get it rebuilt because it is blowing oil out of the back , where my dd pipe bolts to . So I was thinking of maybe upgrading turbo . The 2860 performs awesome and a lot better then the 2560 I had on sled before . Do you think a 2871 would be better for my stock engine with just a headshim . Thank you for the replies .

.60 compressor, 0.86 turbine
56 trim compressor.
.86 turbine help make more power... but it need more rpm to boost... but really not bad at all!
