Hi Everyone,

Had a fun/short season on my Nytro. Drove all season with a fuctional but homemade rear view mirror on left side (Quebec law). On last ride of the season, 4km from the truck, trail cops pulled me over and issued a 261$ fine for mirror not being permanently fixed to sled. Just wanted to warn you. Sucks because that was my riser and carbide money!!

Sorry for the fine, but thanks for the heads up.

Hi,
Yeah I'm pissed, I was riding in Saint-Donat, Qc. I had attached my mirror to my hand guard with heavy duty velcro and then siliconed it into place. Worked great and provided good rear visibility. The cop said it had to be "bolted" to the sled. I have a perfect record, was driving the speed limit, all papers in order, but he just said "infraction" and I received a 261$ ticket in the mail.

Makes you really want to ride there some more and dump more money into their economy huh! There was a similar post on Facebook recently. Fella from Maine riding in Quebec got nabbed and fined for not having sideview. He's never going back.

I'm from Quebec and generally enjoy the trails and sled culture. The way I was spoken to and fined was BS. I will never ride/spend money in that area again. It is cheaper to run through a red light with your car, than to not have a "permanent" rear view mirror on a sled. Still love my Nytro!

We were stopped in Quebec, and the police allowed one of the group to go back to his vehicle and get his rearview mirror that goes on his arm...apparently they are OK! Must depend on the police individual personality as everywhere else.

That ,speed limits and theft is why I don't ride in Quebec any more. Arostock county, Jackman, Katahdin loop and Moosehead loop ( all in Maine)gives us everything we need to have a great snowmobile season

How much per person is a day pass to ride Canada for US citizens?
