As of right now my sled is 100% stock. And I have been considering getting hurricane 270hp SS SM tune.

Question #1 If I get the 270hp SM tune will it be the SS tune? Or is it extra?

Question #2 I have the 18 BTX so it comes with the extra intake around the handlebars. Do I need the cold air intake? I been reading that the cold air intake isn’t making intake temperatures any colder than stock.

Question #3 Clutching. It appears that all is needed are extra weights, either Dalton or Supertips. Is there anything else I should be looking at getting? I don’t want to spend half the winter trying to figure out the right clutch setup. Been there with my turbo Viper, ordering parts and waiting for them to show up and hoping it works out.

Yes I know I could of just email Hurricane but it appears a lot of people here are either close to Dave or work with him.

1. It'll be ss tune as long as you wait a bit til he releases it to all. Currently only available to those with a flasher
2. Do not need the cold air intake. Opinions vary but is not needed for sure
3. Weights and spring are all that is needed. Many run the stock 35 degree helix with good luck.

The other item you'll need is a better blow off valve. Turbosmart is popular but Tommcat also sells a better one yet and as a bonus you can her the turbo with his.

As of right now the SS is only for flasher and 3 bar users. You do not need a CAI but yes indeed will need weights. Give Dave a call .

The 270 SM works very well.

Stiffen up the secondary and IMO a bit more helix angle. That’s to be debated as I’m sure some will not agree with that. Weights for sure and IMO crank the secondary tighter >more degrees. Do this until you see no black marks/ slippage in the secondary.

I did email Dave today about what tune to get for my type of riding. And he did suggest the 270hp SS SM. He didn’t mention anything about the SS tune not being available now.

Run the 240 stock muffler tune and add weight to stock weights or use Dalton arms and call it a day. No worries about poor fuel or hot intake temps. Runs excellent all day long.

Best to call Dave

I have an acquaintance who purchased Hurricane sm 270 tune and a set of Dalton weights, that's it! I think bang for buck this is great deal. Its cheap, quiet, stealth and will annihilate any stock sled you encounter!!

Just do it!

I personally have Dave's ss sm tune bundle with cluster flash which include 225,240,270 I went to his shop and had him do flash boost leak test, align clutches which mine needed .20 off the shaft. Install td blow off valve 3 bar map sensor dalton dtay1 set to 78.5g with black orange secondary spring set 6-3. I've done some testing mainly with 240,270 but I hit the rev limiter if I whack the throttle with 270 ss in, my sled is not studded yet will be here in few weeks so spinning could be why I hitting rev limiter lol. But huge improvement over stock.

I’m not a lake racer. I have a BTX 153” with a 2.5’ track. I’m a backcountry rider that is on and off the throttle a lot. And I’m looking for a tune that will make this sled wheelie on command. I changed out the center spring to AC stiffer spring and I changed out the gearing to the 17 MTX.
I been watching Janzkak videos on YouTube and he makes his sled wheelie for days. 270 tune he said he is running

I am waiting for someone to run the original SMT with the new SS SMT and tell me if the difference is worth the $150 upgrade.
