after i type this im going back to continue but would like to know asap.

im in the process of replacing the lower transfer case seal on a 1992 big bear. what id like to know for shure is; is the front diff shaft supposed to be in "pase" or out of paze? book shows in but this one is out one tooth. my training as a mechanic tells me to put it in pase but some times they are put out of paze for vibration on some equipment. a quick reply would be apreciated. thanks :o| :o| :?

I would say put it in phase but i don't think it matters that much seeing that the shaft doesn't spin that fast(not like a truck going 75mph down a smooth road where you would notice some vibrations)

thanks. shes still not together. that #$%$#%# seal goes in from back side from inside transfer case cover. going to split it tonite and see if i can get it all back together. wish me luck.
