On my 11 apex 128 I have a ulmer clutch kit and a new belt about 700 miles ago and I noticed today wide open In good trail conditions I'm hitting 9900 rpm not quite 10000 and top speed is 100 mph. My question is where are the revs suppose to be at 10500- 10800?? And with the kit from ulmer is it hard to adjust what's going on? Thanks guys

The 2011+ apexes should run between 10,500 - 10,700. I would ask Allen about this. He has been good at supporting his product in my experience.

Ilya I called a few times today but just voice mail I left a voicemail but thought I'd check on here.. Not real familiar with clutches belt looks good and where it should be.. so do u take a way weight to get it to rev higher,is that the idea?? Or are his adjustable?? Thanks

am betting allens kit is supertips, and yes are very adjustable, also depending if he sent out a helix and secondary spring, you can wrap it a little tighter to increase roms, but most of your rpms should be gained thru the primary weights and spring,so remove your weights and look at the instructions to see where it should be,and remove where it suggests for overall rpms, you may have the heel loaded to much.Ilya I called a few times today but just voice mail I left a voicemail but thought I'd check on here.. The Ulmer kit should have super tips. My set up is OPO primary spring that came with kit, super tips set up: heel: Tungsten insert & 1 washer, Mid: Empty, Tip: 1 washer. Stock secondary spring @3-3. Ulmer Helix has a "G" stamped on it. I am seeing 10,500 - 10,700 depending on conditions, if I wanted to increase the RPM slightly, Ulmer recommended tightening the secondary spring set up to 6-1. I also heard that removing the washer from the tip on the primary would gain 100-200 RPM. I hope this helps.

It sounds as if one of your clutches may be shifting out too much dragging the rpm's down. Could be too much tip weight in the primary or not tight enough secondary spring.Ok thanks a lot for the info I'll have to get some one over that knows there clutches on a apex.. I noticed a lot of play in the bushing in the secondary so pressed it out n put a new one in and put the secondary spring to 6-2 does that sound about right?? It's like it goes up to 105 now then still seems like it drops back down to 9900 .... Weird Eh shouldn't it stay at 105 ???

I'm using ulmers kit in my apex also. As the miles add up 1180 so far i've been noticing rpms jumping to 11000 when i nail it then settle to 10800. What do i need to do so it jumps lower then creep up to 10800. Weights are set up as 2 washers in tip and 7 in heel. Thanks

You can add one more washer to the heel of each weight, should correct the initial over rev condition.

Took it today right to 10500 and creeps to 10700. Three inches of snow on the lake right now so I’m going to leave it for now and let the lake tighten up and check again. Felt clutches really cool and 102 on speedo
