Quick wiring question

I am wiring my heated shield to the battery, I bought an inline fuse, does it matter if the inline fuse is heavier gauge wire then the rest of the wire on the plug? I am going to use the fuse right at the battery then it well step down to lighter gauge. Thanks

No, the heavier wire doesn't matter. It's the fuse size that's important.
