I have 03 rx1 with 1500 miles on it Right before the clutch engages i have a rattle sound under the tunnel. I think around the exhaust pipes area. Anybody else with this problem?

They are not removed on the -04 Warriors. I removed mine due to rattling noise. According to the Parts Online Catalog @ Yammi they are removed on the -05 Warriors. I haven't checked if it's the same on the shorty.

I have my skid out right now, and I noticed one of the heat shields is loose, I was going to re-rivet them.

But you say it's OK to remove ALL of these heat shields? :?

Thats correct Bob, Drill out the rivets and yank them out...BBY

Better to removed them now instead of a friend of mine with his RX Mountain. The back of the shield fell down against the track and locked it. :o| The only thing to do was to take the skid out in the middle of nowhere and yank it off with some brute force. :o| :o|

Lucky for him it was at low speed so it didn't cut the track in half and/or crashed out. ;)!

Thanks for the feedback! How many are there to remove?

Do the 04 short track have heat shields or just the Warrior ????

It seems that the shorty has them aswell. It's 3 shields to remove, the 2 in the front is the one that started to rattle and I took all 3 out when I was on it.

Do you have to get it from under side or can you remove them with the seat off? Thanks, Jay

You have to remove the skid because it's pretty tight, don't think you'll be able to remove the rivets from the top especially when the fuel tank is there aswell. :o| And the right frontshield has also a steel rivet thats located UNDER the studprotectors. :o| :o|

A real pain in the :moon: to remove...
