Setting up a set of weights on my Nytro MTX to run low elevation. WOW, are those steel 17.2mm rivets hard!!!
I had a set of SLP MTX weights (which also used rivets) on my last sled. Put them in, pound down other end until flat/flush. However, not finding that to be the case with these!
Couple of questions before I go any further.....How do these rivets rest in the 8FS00 weight? One side has a bevel. It appears the head of the rivet rests in the bevel. Is this correct or should I put them in the other way? Second, what is the trick to getting these things to flatten? Do you need to use heat?
Any suggestions would we GREATLY appreciated!!
Thank you in advance!

just pound them till they mushroom out and fit tight in the holes. the yamaha weights all have a bevel on one side (i believe). as long as they dont move you are fine. shouldnt matter which side they go in as long as all rivets are the same in all the arms. read, not loading some in one way some in another. ski

Could be wrong here but I think the bevel is there so if you have to drill out the rivet you won't affect the overall weight The important thing is to have all put in the same way for balance

Leave the bevel side for the flatten portion and just mushroom
not flatten. Like the others said make sure all are in the same direction.
