rear axle

How do you get the rear axle nut off without braking it? It seems like I always end up braking the pin on the other side & it wrecks the threads. I am looking at the nut & it looks like it has a built in lock thread/washer, it seems to cut into the axle as I unbolt it. WORKS WELL!! , it is not a nylon?/lock nut.

Its just another regular lock nut. Should unscrew, just snug. Use a 17 mm one one side, a 19 mmm on the other and pull. If it doesn't come loose, then something is wrong, frozen or crossthreaded.

X2 just a normal yamaha selflock nut. Can u post a pic.

Got it off, pb blaster, & heat

I had the same problem with that style lock nut. I had to get a new axle after all the threads got damaged and I could tighten the axle up. Stupid design if you ask me.
