Noob question here. Bought an Attak at the end of this past season and put a few hundred miles on it. Now I am ready to start tearing it down and replacing worn parts. I really need to replace ALL the wheels and both sliders.

I am coming from a Doo and thought I would look at the Doo wheel mod to have replaceable bearings. Went to remove the rear axle and the bolts were on there good. Come to find out the previous owner cross threaded the 2 bolts and the axle and bolts are shot. Also one of the track tensioner threads are stripped too. This is why I kept ratcheting even after I added a double nut.

I've been reading the forums and reviewing Port Yamaha parts fiche. I believe I need p/n 8L8-47520-10-00. Does anyone know what comes with that? The description is "REAR AXLE COMP.".

Thanks
Brian

The part number you listed will be only the rear axle only with a bolt in one side and no wheels. If you are new to Yamaha, on that year rear axle there is a steel bolt on one end and it is screwed into the aluminum axle and retained with a roll pin. You do not remove this bolt. You remove the nut from the other end and then pull the axle completely out from the bolt side. If the threads on the nut end are stripped, then you will have to replace the axle. I might even have an axle and adjuster in my spare parts supply if you are interested.

I saw the roll pin after the axle was removed. The nut end threads were stripped AND the bolt end bolt came out of the axle itself. The axle is toast.

If you have spare parts, I would be interested. I am located in CNY area.
