Got tired of looking at the nasty sandblasted look of the rear bumper. So I wet sanded it down and polished it up.

Looks great now I have to do mine!
The bumper is aluminum isn't it? Mine got a brown/gold deposit on it that looks like rust.

What grit did you use? And just normal or wet sanding?

Regular sanded with 220, then wet with 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500. Then buffed on my bench grinder with a wheel and compound. Take your time and it should come out good.

Honestly, took me about an hour. The sanding was the easiest part. Then just took my time buffing it out. What next???

Best of luck keeping it that way. I polished my tunnel, 2 sleds ago and never again. I had as once you remove the factory finish the black alum dust gets really ugly and hard to remove. I agree that it looks nice, but ads alot to the maintenance factor of an otherwise maintenance-friendly machine.
