I finally took out the piece of metal that used to hold my stock muffler and now have a regular tunnel but the Yamaha rear cooler doesn't fit since it was designed to mount to that chunk of metal. Anyone know what cooler might work well back there?

Here's How I did mine. The cooler I believe was from Racers edge but any U cooler would work. I had to weld the spigots on to the cooler in order to align with the edge coolers coming through the side of the tunnel. I was thinking that a guy could get a set of running board coolers from an RX1 and cut and weld them into a U cooler pretty easily. You would have trim the flange off to make it flat but could be done. Cooler material isn't that hard to find and couple of welded miters and you are done. I added lots of cooling to mine when I built it knowing it was going to need to cool a turbo motor. Hope this helps

My wife would say my shop abilities are a curse as she rarely sees me in the 3 months before sledding season. Right now I'm building a sled for my son. It's going to look similar to mine but I'm using a fan cooled Phazer motor in it. Light weight everything. Im hoping it'll come in somewhere around 325 lbs dry. Should be good for a 90 lb kid.

I'm actually glad my sled isn't that pretty.....it would absolutely destroy me to watch it roll down a mountain
Where can a guy find some of that cooler material???

The Racer's Edge 403-254-8686 used to sell cooler material as well as make custom coolers. I think he's still in business but his web site isn't working so you may just have to call. BDM I will likely have my single pipe for sale once my turbo is installed if you are looking for one. The turn down is no longer on it as it touched my track on big bumps. The single pipe is ceramic coated and the 2 into ones are the 05 titanium lightweight ones. If I remember all in the whole system was around 10 lbs.

I just had Vanamburg in yakima build a couple custom double pass coolers for a vector with stock tunnell and mpi tunnell extension and they turned out awesome.

I'd love to build sleds for a living but I think it's pretty competitive out there and somedays at the rate I get things done I'd be working for 50 cents an hour. I think I'll keep my day job. Years ago I did autobody which is where I first started doing metal work all be in steel not aluminum. If I could do 1 or 2 chassis a season that might be kind of cool. What would guys pay for something totally custom as in a 1 off? I do all my own crmo too. Just curious
