Anyone put one on how much whered you get it. only 1 trip on my Vector and it overheated all day . the trail was very icy though. had to keep stopping and put snow on top of the boards to cool it down.

If the trails are icy, most any sled will overheat. You just need to get in the ditch more often to throw some snow up there.

srvfan...u'll have that with the 4-strokes. i always stop at the side of the trail and throw snow in the track and on the running boards....try to avoid icy trails tho...dangerous if u or the guy coming at u doesnt have studs

I had lots of problems with overheating as well over the weekend. Sub zero temps and slightly icy trails and the light was on the whole time. I put snow on the running boards - it helped. But I couldn't even idle longer than about 30 seconds at a stop before the light came on. The running boards were so hot they melted my boots. Has anyone heard anything about the antifreeze to water ratio that the sleds come with from the dealership? I have to do something about this because if I had that many problems when it was -10F I can't imagine how it will work at 30+

Some have said that they've found 100% antifreeze in theirs, instead of the 60:40 mix that's required. Might be worth getting a tester and checking your coolant ratio.

I checked mine.....it was pretty much solid antifreeze. Changed it to a prestone 60/40 mix. I also put the rear cooler on my Rage to eliminate any further issues......and havn't had any.

Most Yamaha over heating problems are caused by air locks in the cooling system .I have never had a problem with this sled but my last one a 600 twin over heated three times after the engine was over hauled and it had an air lock each time .

Mine overheated once during xmas when we stopped to talk for 5-10 min.
300 ft down the trail the light went off.
But later that week I put on the $85 rear cooler I got from Port Yamaha.
I also had what I think was straight antifreeze. Put in 50/50 which is prolly closer to 60 because you cant get all of the old stuff out. Also put in 6 oz of water wetter to make my system most efficient.

No sir, got a vector.Wilson said:Tork are you riding an RS Venture ,if so how hard was it to install the cooler ?
But the cooler was pretty easy. You have to enlarge the hole on one side.
Used a 1 1/8 hole saw and connected it to the original hole with a dremel using sanding discs
