The pop rivets that came with my Yamaha heat exchanger will not work in my 4 guns
7 aluminum an 2 stainless rivets I ruined 1 of the stainless rivets.

What type of gun and what's happening to the rivets any photos?

My rivet guns are good for 3/16 rivets but the rivets Yamaha sent with the heat exchanger are bigger in the metric size
bought a 1/4 inch gun yesterday at Menards and it would work with the metric rivets also called Kevin at Port he is sending me a
stainless rivet to finish the job along with 6 new idler wheels. Going to bleed the coolant system today. Thanks

I didn't use any riviets on my 2 cooler installs. I used 1/4" SS bolts. Used SS Nylock nuts as well. Never loosened in 9000 miles on one and now have 3k or so on my new Attak.

I got them in but one it will be here tomorrow. But the job has been a pain. Thanks

I found it easy to do. I cut the cross over tube in half so it came right out. Then with a dremil I cut open the sides and cut the OEM protectors out. Filled new cooler with antifreeze and installed with SS bolts. Lifted front end up and ran machine until warm and air was purged out.The harder part is making protectors over the cooler because I'm studded.

I got my heat exchanger install finished. Cleaned my old cross over pipe and two stainless steel rivets in my spare parts box. I take with me when I go to the UP :)
