I didn't use any riviets on my 2 cooler installs. I used 1/4" SS bolts. Used SS Nylock nuts as well. Never loosened in 9000 miles on one and now have 3k or so on my new Attak.

I found it easy to do. I cut the cross over tube in half so it came right out. Then with a dremil I cut open the sides and cut the OEM protectors out. Filled new cooler with antifreeze and installed with SS bolts. Lifted front end up and ran machine until warm and air was purged out.The harder part is making protectors over the cooler because I'm studded.I got them in but one it will be here tomorrow. I got my heat exchanger install finished. Cleaned my old cross over pipe and two stainless steel rivets in my spare parts box. I take with me when I go to the UPI found it easy to do.
