- 2003 Yamaha RX1/apex Mountain 162"
So, I recently bought a rx1 that has a 162" apex skid in it. It has around 13000km on it and the exact milage on the skid is unknown to me, but at least 6000km.
The problem is that I find it really soft. Riding solo with both front coilover and rear torsion springs on hardest it bottoms out quite easily on modest trail speeds in modest bumps...two up is basically not possible, at 20kmph it bottoms at all bumps.
Is this a case of worn out springs and/or shocks or are they just that soft?
(Can add that I am ~85kg fully geared up)

shocks are most likely toast in the skid. if you are lucky they are aluminum bodied and are rebuildable. if not you will need to get the centre to centre extended legth to get a replacement shock that fits.
