It's critical to get the transfer rod gap set correctly on any proaction skid. If your too soft, you'll be riding fully coupled all the time, effectively making the ride too stiff. Adjust your preload with the FRA in the center position. You are looking for 60/40%, with the larger gap on the top. This will delay the coupling action on compression, allowing your skid to stroke more before coupling. I have over 20,000 miles on my proaction equipped sleds. You won't get as plush of a ride as some other manufacturers skid, but you can make them fairly comfortable. Biggest change comes with a progressive revalve, or an adjustable Ohlins. Have revalved setup in my 97 XTC and Ohlins on my Viper. I prefer the Ohlins, but the 97 still rides pretty good. The 97 is the sled in my avatar. That is a launch on a 100+ foot jump LOL! My riding buddy calls me Shock Tester LOL!!
