Ok, I took out the rear skid and changed the sliders then put everthing back. I did a final walk around and realized that I had installed the shaft backwards, the shaft that goes throug the skid and wheels. Basically the nut was on the left hand side when I took it apart and now its on the right. I really don't feel like taking it back out and can't see where it would make a bit of difference if the shaft goes from the left to the right or the right to the left but I wanted to just check in before I adjust track alignment and set the track tension.

six of one, half a dozen of the other. as long as all your spacers and washers are correct your good to go.

A quick trick to change these w/o a lot of work:

Used a 24" piece of round rod, of similar size, to push the axle bolt out. As the axle bolt comes out, the rod goes in. Once the bolt falls out, push the rod out with the bolt. You can easily swap things this way w/o having to mess with the misc. parts.

I do it the same way,but I cut a piece of tubing that fits perfectly! WORKS WELL and I take it with me when I go to Quebec! If you have to change a wheel, it goes smoothly!

guys, what is the diameter on that rod, so I dont have to yank the bolt out and measure.... do you know off hand? thanks!

The Tubing I used measures 18mm (.071) Diameter and I cut it 20" in length. I'm not sure what type of tubing it is, it was just laying around, could be Gas Line Tubing, there are markings on it: GL/ Line, Inch Mark, and it's Zinc Plated.
It fits perfectly

I am using a 3/8" round rod. You can hammer on it a bit and it will not bend or mushroom. It also works the same on the other bolts that go all the way through from one side to the other on the suspension. But, so far, I have only had to do that on my Cats.

thanks guys.. I will put this to use. I always am swearing when setting this back up after removing my suspension. this site is so awesome!

I will remeber that in the future but I had to take it apart anyways, forgot to install a spacer, before I but it back togeather I sprayed some silicon over the shaft and it went back togeather slick.
