Recurring hand warmer electrical problem

WELL I AM NIT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE.....MANY OTHERS ARE TOO. IT IS JUST A CROCK THAT YAMAHA CANT STAND BEHIND THEIR MACHINES TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS...AND MAKE IT RIGHT. I HAVE NOT HAD ONE PERSON YET TELL ME IT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM AND BEEN FIXED 100%. OR IT HAS NOT REOCCURED 2000 MILES LATER.....WHATS YAMAHA HAVE TO SAY ???? "WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE...." DONT YOU THINK A RECALL SHOULD BE PLACED ON THESE SLEDS? I DO
FOR SURE. I DO AGREE IT IS A GOOD DEAL FOR THE PACKAGE YOU GET FROM THEM DONT GET ME WRONG, BUT WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PACKAGE.....FIX IT. THEY MUST HAVE SOME IDEA OF THE PROBLEM, THEY JUST DO NOT WANT TO RECALL 50,000 SLEDS AND REPLACE A BAD WIRING HARNESS AND SENDING UNIT THAT CANT HANDLE THE PROPER LOAD BEING PLACED ON IT BY THE WARMERS. TO ME A GOOD "PACKAGE" INCLUDES CUSTOMER SERVICE,RELIABLITY,AND KNOWLEDGABLE PEOPLE TO HELP YOU WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. MINE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY SO THEY WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THESE OTHER GUYS WHO ARE UNDER WARRANTY STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN A FIX AFTER NUMEROUS TRYS BY THE DEALERS AND TECHS.....THAT TELLS ME THERE IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THAT YAMAHA WANTS TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR DEAL WITH....SO THERE ANWSER IS..."WE DONT KNOW " THAT S NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE OR A GOOD PACKAGE AS YOU WOULD CALL IT. SORRY

If your Warrior is like any other Yamaha, you can't measure the voltage with no load. You need to leave your heated grips hooked up and then check for voltage. If you have the push connectors under your crash pad on the bars, slip your meter probe under there for a reading. Then you will see voltage. My 01' SXR-700 shows 12 volts and still my new grips and new relay will not heat up my grips. The problem is not enough current is flowing. That in my sled can only mean one thing, bad CPU. Just remember it's mostlikey a current sensing circuit for your warmers. Doug

FIXED!!!

well after numerous attempts to fix the hand warmer problem and flashing codes......problem found!!! my left hand grip has a bad connection or is burnt out. after hooking up just the right grip we found that the right one will warm up and stopped the blinking codes. I have new grips and bars coming so we will see if thats an ultimate fix....

Dude I had the same problem with mine. when you hook up only one side it gets hot instantly. but when you hook them back up in series nothing, dealer replaced the cdi box but still the same. once in a while I think they kinda work(prolonged high speed) but never have to worry about turning them down.
