TY 4 Stroke Master
Coming off my beloved 06 Apex soon and am wondering which Viper I would be happiest with. I am a young 51 years old 6ft and 230lbs. I still ride aggressively sometimes but mostly on groomed trails . I also do a lot of lake riding .

For sure get the ltx it still has trouble hooking up but sure its better than the shorty. The se if you like snow x, it great on the big stuff but will wear you out on the small studder. Im 210lbs and its way stiff for me. Getting mine revalved this week. I have a friend with the standard ltx and he goes 300lbs. He loves it.

I agree, I'm 6 ft 250 dressed. And I would get the LTX. It is pretty stiff. I jump a lot and ride it hard, but if your not really a jumper and like more of a cushy ride I would go with the LTX. No SE. You get a taller windshield a decent bag heated seat. I had to buy a bigger windshield and bag. I might stick some different oil in my shocks to make then a little softer, but great when jumping or hitting the big stuff. You will appreciate the longer track while trail riding.

My biggest complaint with my 09 Nytro FX was the ride. It was too stiff for my liking. I even went so far as to pay a guy 400 bucks to custom re-valve my shocks and that definetly helped but still did not get me what I wanted. I wanted a nice riding sled I could ride all day. During this re-valve, my shock guy told me the nicest riding shocks where the standard Yamaha shocks. le, I would have been even more un-happy with the higher end shocks such as Fox floats.
I took this advice into consideration when I bought my LTX and have not regretted it one bit. It is by far the nicest, sweetest, most comfortable sled I have ever ridden in my life. I spend most of my time riding aggressively on groomed trails with an occasional blast across an open field. I have no trouble keeping up with anybody. The taller windshield and seat heater is also very nice.
My only regret is that it did not come in Red, have a black tunnel and black powdercoated rails.
