So in the off season now I'm going over stuff and it appears my belt tension was a bit off with my pb80 this season on the tcat.

So after doing a bunch of research again and learning about setting belt tension and old conversation stuck in my brain. When I was talking with one of the thunder guys years ago he mentioned

"Well now I'm going to have to explain the relationship between track and belt tension to you and info t have the time for that!"

Before the tcat I kept my tracks some what loose and adjusted the belt to what ever I felt good on the when pushing on it. It always struck me as this wasn't repeatable because you could push with a different force.

So how do you guys set you belt to track tension? Do you set it the track tension and then adjust based on the push down or do you look to see if the track creeps a bit. Even if the belt drops in the secondary?

Track tension and belt deflection are independent of one another. Get the track tight so it has no sag when you lift the sled. We call it fiddle tight. Tight is fast. This is so you won't have to worry about the track ratcheting or ballooning at high speed.
Belt deflection is adjusted with the secondary and the belt should end up sitting about even with the top of the sheave. Test after the sled has run about 50 feet and not on the stand
