I remember when the RX1 came out and all the turbo kits first came out.
There was the Lightning Pro that used a front mount turbo and a single carb upstream of the compressor. one of the big advantages of this was the elimination of overboost and blowoff valve not being needed.
it seams to me that with the advent of port injection it would be very easy to duplicate this benifit by taking off the individual throttle bodies and using a single automotive sized throttle body on the compressor, leaving the injectors were thay are
do any of the kits do this? has anyone tried it?

I tried it by fuel injecting an rx1,you cannot use a garrett style turbo. They used a rajay turbo because of the different oil seals they used that are no longer used in any other kind of turbos. If the other turbos are used they suck the oil right out past the seals due to the vacuum when you let off the throttle
all kits have their ups and downs.
